MUMBAI: US broadcaster Animal Planet Media has promoted its marketing chief Victoria Lowell to senior VP - marketing and operations. Lowell will continue to report to the company president and GM Marjorie Kaplan.

She will be based in the network’s Silver Spring, Maryland office.

Post elevation, Lowell will not only continue to lead strategic creative branding and marketing efforts for Animal Planet, but will also work closely with Kaplan to set strategic network direction. She will oversee the management of all Animal Planet operations to ensure an aggressive growth plan for the channel.

Kaplan says, "Lowell has been an integral and savvy ally in repositioning the network as an entertainment destination. Her strategic counsel and creative energy has been invaluable, and I am looking forward to continuing our partnership together to elevate Animal Planet to the next tier of success."
