NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) is considering new vehicles of publicity like mobile telephony, digital cinema, Internet and other new forms of media.

DAVP is putting in place a plan for automation of its systems and processes to increase the speed of delivery and impart transparency and efficiency, sources tell Indiantelevision.com.

DAVP is the first advertising agency in the country that has operationalised the online billing system for the newspapers in the last two years. About 80 per cent of the funds for print advertisements are disbursed through the online account transfer system.

DAVP is also the first advertising agency to issue its media releases of advertisements for the print and audio video publicity through the Internet. With the press of a button, the work orders are distributed to all the empanelled publications and TV and radio channels in one go.

As reported by Indiantelevision.com earlier, the DAVP expects to do a business of Rs 6 billion this fiscal, a 20 per cent jump from the year-ago period. It has already achieved Rs 4 billion in the release of print and audio visual advertisements. The amount spent by DAVP in 2006-07 on advertisements was Rs 2.46 billion.

DAVP has on its panel about 4500 newspapers and publications and releases advertisements in 22 major languages of India . Over 170 channels and more than 100 private FM stations have also been empanelled. DAVP claims to have reached the remotest corners of the country through its network of field units of exhibition.
