MUMBAI: Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has rolled out its new marketing initiative 'Hyundai Utsav' in a bid to tap the rural market.

Through this new marketing strategy, Hyundai aims to reach out to farmers, money lenders, business community, private companies, government employees, doctors and lawyers across all non - dealership towns to create awareness about the brand. The local wholesale marketplace or the 'Mandi' will be the marketing venue in many places.

HMIL SVP sales & marketing Arvind Saxsena says, "Rising rural incomes, healthy agricultural growth, growth in rural infrastructure and growing consumerism have opened up new avenues for automobile manufacturers. We feel that 50 per cent of the 220 million rural households are potential car buyers. In order to facilitate rural financing, we have also tied-up with various public sector banks (PSB)."

Trained activation teams will be stationed across all the locations to supervise the entire activity, attend to the visitors and offer test drives. Customers will also be educated about loans and schemes.
