Gitanjali adds glamour to Mumbai Indians

MUMBAI: Diamond jewelry brand Gitanjali Group has announced its tie up with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians. It has designed the man of the match trophy for the franchisee's home matches.

In addition, Mumbai Indians has tied up with the upcoming film 99 which revolves around cricket. The stars of the film Boman Irani, Soha Ali khan and Cyrus Broacha will be in South Africa cheering for the Mumbai Indians.

Gitanjali also has a deal with the Kolkata Knight Riders for whom it has designed the helmets.

The two-feet tall Golden trophy has 550 diamonds studded on it with 785 precious stones. Gitanjali Group manager marketing and communications Priyanka Choksi says that the aim is to be at the heart of young India. "Cricket in India is more than a sport. It has a cult status and we are gald to be associated with this magnificent game."

Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani says, "We are happy to be associated with the Gitanjali Group. We believe that this unique trophy will be apt recognition to the most precious player of the match during our home matches."

In the sporting arena, Gitanjali is looking at Formula One.
