NEW DELHI: At a time when the advertising industry wordwide is looking at scaling down options, Starcom MediaVest Group is gearing up to upscale its India operations.

As part of its India growth plan, Starcom IP, the digital marketing arm of Starcom MediaVest Group, has relocated Suyesh Shankar to India as national strategy director.

Prior to this, Shankar was based in Singapore where he led the company's digital strategy across key clients including Oracle, Samsung and Singapore Tourism Board.

Starcom MediaVest Group chief digital officer - North and South Asia Pushkar Sane said, “We are upscaling and upskilling our team in India this year. That involves more than tripling our team size as well as moving in people with international experience."

"Suyesh is one of the strongest digital strategists I have met and worked with and when we got an opportunity to bring someone from the region to India, he emerged as a natural choice. His specific strengths in search and web analytics will give our clients an edge in the marketplace,” Sane added.

Based in Mumbai, Shankar will work with Starcom's client management teams and will spearhead digital strategy for all clients. He will also work on key regional digital accounts.
