NEW DELHI: Mahindra Retail, the retail subsidiary of Mahindra Group, will be investing Rs 1 billion to further expand the presence of its speciality chain 'Mom and Me'.

'Mom & Me' is the company’s speciality retail outlet for expecting mothers, mothers, infants and children up to the age of 9. The outlet has a range of products including maternity wear, infants and kids fashion, educational and activity toys and games, wellness products for mothers and babies, nursery furniture and furnishings and travel and safety products.

Says Mahindra retail managing director K Venkataraman, “We will invest between Rs 750 million to 1 billion during the first phase of our retail expansion in the mother and child speciality retail.”

The company launched its first flagship store in New Delhi and has plans to launch two more such stores in Delhi in the coming weeks, one in Mumbai and another store in Bangalore.

“As a first-time concept in India, 'Mom & Me' aims to benefit customers, delighting them with world-class products and services. A major attraction at these stores is the provision of value-added services such as play areas for kids, feeding area, reading lounge, nappy change-cum-wash area, parenting forums and web kiosks. Through this venture, 'Mom & Me' intends to reach out to customers with personal care and attention going beyond the ordinary touch point,” adds Venkataraman.

Currently the company has its stores in Ahmedabad, Pune and Ludhiana.
