CAVELOSSIM
BEACH, GOA: Goafest 2009 closed on Saturday after the announcement
of the Creative Abby awards at Cavelossim Beach. JWT walked
away with the Grand Prix for the direct marketing category
for the Teach India Campaign for Times of India and a total
tally of 24 metals comprising 1 Grand Prix, 5 each of gold
and silver and 13 bronze. No other Grand Prix was awarded
this year.
In
the overall medals tally, O&M piped JWT with more than
double the number of metals 50 to be more precise
8 gold, 17 silver and 25 bronze. Leo Burnett followed in third
place in terms of number of metals with 1 gold, 2 silver and
14 bronze to total 27 metals.
However,
if one were to consider the Olympic Games yardstick with the
number of gold, then ideas@work with a lower medals tally
of 14, but with 2 gold could also be crowned at third place,
and Publicis Communications at fourth place with 2 gold and
a metals tally of 13. Rediffusion YR with a medal tally of
10, but with 2 gold would stand at fifth place, pushing Leo
Burnett to sixth place despite the higher number of awards.
