MUMBAI: Promax&BDA, the non-profit association for entertainment and information content marketing, promotion and design in the US, has named veteran journalist Christopher Pursell to the newly created post of VP, content innovation, effective 22 September.

The announcement was made by Promax&BDA president Jonathan Block-Verk.

The organisation says that the move exemplifies its aim to offer members more physical and digital touch points that enable them to connect, network and learn on myriad platforms and in many different ways.

Chief among the responsibilities Pursell assumes with the position is editorial direction for all content platforms generated by Promax&BDA. In addition to working with Block-Verk on setting the direction, tone and editorial policy for the organization's quarterly print publication, DNA Magazine, and its digital newsletter DNAOnline, Pursell will be charged with writing and commissioning articles for those outlets.

He will also contribute to session, panel and speaker development for the various Promax & BDA events, including the annual Promax & BDA Conference, C4 Creative Clinics, webinars and podcasts. In addition, Pursell will represent Promax&BDA and its DNA outlets at industry conferences and events around the globe.

Block-Verk says, "Chris is a forward thinking, results-driven executive and respected journalist with a solid background in content creation, corporate communications and relationship building. His relationships within the entertainment industry are unrivaled and will be a tremendous asset in developing opportunities for the association as we become the hub for information, insight and context into the international art and business of entertainment marketing, promotion and design."

Pursell says, "By examining the industry's latest trends, opportunities and best practices, Promax&BDA has access to an enormous wealth of content that is crucial for the success of any platform.
