MUMBAI: On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Big 92.7 FM has announced special promotional plans and interactive initiatives across all its stations in India.

While Big FM RJ’s will visit various pandals across the city to give live updates on the festival, the station has lined up interactive initiatives like on-air talk shows, contests, call-ins and on-ground events surrounding Ganesh Chaturthi across all its stations.

The station is organising a talent hunt called ‘Comedy Ganesha’ in Bangalore. The contest, aiming to identify the best comedian in Bangalore, will shortlist final three candidates who will perform on-air between 4-5 September and request listeners to vote for them.

Based on the listener ratings, the ultimate winner will be picked on 9 September, who will be given a chance to play act in the Kannada comedy TV serial, Point Parimala.

Big FM, Surat, will organise an on-ground social campaign during this season where a hoarding with messages like "Beti Bachao" (save daughters) and global warming will be displayed.

A live booth set-up will be placed near this hoarding where Big FM RJ’s will host their shows.

“We are continuously pushing the envelope in terms of content for our listeners. This festival season we will showcase customised programming which includes special capsules celebrating the festival, interesting trivia and places to shop to bring out the true spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi,” says BIG 92.7 FM national VP programming Nirupam Sonu.
