Red FM launches anti-smoking campaign

MUMBAI: Red FM has launched a campaign to create awareness regarding the health hazards caused by smoking. The campaign is called Pfizer presents Red FM Quit Smoking Express and is an initiative planned for World No Tobacco Day.

The campaign will be launched by Red FM in association with Pfizer, Salaam Bombay and BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation). The campaign includes on air and on ground programmes in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The campaign will conclude on 31 May. Many programmes have been lined up for the cause like on ground activation. There will be private buses which will travel the roads of the above mentioned cities propagating anti-smoking message.

The road show will also give the masses an opportunity to express their concern for loved ones who might be addicted to smoking. This will be done with the help of a signature board which will be placed on the bus and through on-air messages being delivered by the RJs aboard the express.

The on-ground programmers will also distribute flyers and pamphlets reading ways to quit smoking. A special toll-free number 1800 4190 190 and a website www.champsclub.in will also be offered to people.

Red FM National Marketing and Station Head (Mumbai) Head Anuj Singh said, "Red FM has always been at the forefront in bajaaoing issues that concern the society under our CSR umbrella, Bajaao for a Cause. Cigarette smoking is an ill that affects not only the smoker but also his family and friends. Through this initiative we are not only trying to get the masses to quit smoking but also helping them get over this addiction by giving them information though a toll free number and website provided by Pfizer."
