MUMBAI: GoldSpot Media has announced two new appointments to its executive team. William Ganon has joined GoldSpot as SVP of advertising strategy, and Staffan Nilsson will be working as SVP of business development and sales.

Ganon will lead strategic initiatives targeting advertisers, broadcasters and content providers, and Nilsson will drive global market development and sales.

"We are extremely pleased with the addition of William Ganon and Staffan Nilsson to GoldSpot Media's executive team. Their combined experience and proven leadership in the mobile, content and advertising ecosystems will provide us with a powerful strategic advantage, and reinforces the company's leadership position in mobile TV/video advertising space," said GoldSpot Media president and CEO Srini Dharmaji.

Before joining GoldSpot Media, Ganon was working with Qualcomm's MediaFLO division as VP of advertising revenue and strategy. Ganon also served as VP and GM for Qualcomm's Eudora products as well as VP of sales in the Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS) division.

"GoldSpot Media is poised to dramatically impact the mobile advertising industry as we know it today. The ability to deliver non-intrusive, targeted ads in broadcast/multicast or unicast, based on demographics, behavioural patterns, context and location, along with interactivity to engage users, offers a powerful new medium and an entirely new consumer ad experience. I'm excited to be part of this innovative team," said Ganon.

Earlier, Nilsson was serving as VP for Ericsson CyberLab in Silicon Valley. Nilsson provided Ericsson with business management support, product-to-market positioning, and market development, most recently serving as VP for Ericsson CyberLab in Silicon Valley. He has 33 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

"Mobile TV offers unique advertising potential for all the key stakeholders in the value-chain. It is becoming increasingly evident that mainstream adoption of mobile TV is dependent on new advertising business models tailored for the shorter format 'snacking' medium. I'm looking forward to working with the GoldSpot Media team to contribute to this new mobile advertising revolution," said Nilsson.
