MUMBAI: Customised knowledge services company Boston Analytics has announced its new Quantitative Marketing Research (QMR) service that will provide companies in all industries a greater depth in sector, customer and industry knowledge.

Researchers in the US and India will cost-effectively collect, maintain and analyse data about values, demographics and locations of buyers and prospects to help determine optimum pricing, differentiate products from those of competitors and maximise the probability of new product success.

QMR service is particularly valuable for product-driven companies in industries such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, retail and consumer goods, among others, as well as the advertising and marketing agencies that work with them.

The new practice will be headed by the company's Boston-based chief scientist and VP of marketing research and analytics Murlidhar Rao, and India-based VP of business research and analytics Bhavana Bindra.

"This practice crystallises and aggregates many valuable elements Boston Analytics has delivered to multinational product companies for several years now. I look forward to tying these pieces together and moulding them into a formal, cohesive set of analytical services," said Rao.

Bindra said, "Our clients in India will surely benefit from Boston Analytics' QMR service. Like all of Boston Analytics' services, QMR will provide timely, rigorous research, sophisticated analyses and fully customised delivery into a cost-effective knowledge solution."

"With the economy predicted to stall in the foreseeable future, it is even more critical for our clients to correctly diagnose the needs and desires of their customers. QMR will help our clients make smarter marketing decisions that maximise the success of new product releases, while strengthening our firm's ability to deliver comprehensive, world-class knowledge services with extremely high value," said Boston Analytics CEO and co-founder Rashid Bilimoria.

Clients can leverage Boston Analytics to collect data via the internet (web-based surveys, business or household panels), telephone or mail; maintain data using custom-built, time-series or cross-sectional repositories; and analyse the data to gain action-oriented insights using standard reporting and statistical tools.

"QMR will help our clients make smarter marketing decisions that maximise the success of new product releases, while strengthening our firm's ability to deliver comprehensive, world-class knowledge services with extremely high value," added Bilimoria.
