MUMBAI: Ravi Krishnan, the former MD of IMG South Asia, has joined Emerging Media's IPL Jaipur franchise as vice chairman.

Krishnan, who has over a decade of sports marketing experience in India and Asia, had been in discussion with more than one IPL franchise before this appointment.

Commenting on his new role, Krishnan said, "The IPL is the biggest thing to have happened in the history of Indian sport. The approach which the owners of the Jaipur franchise have demonstrated is one of utmost professionalism and planning. This augurs well for success both on and off the field. We are in it to win."

Krishnan will play an advisory role to the franchise in structuring the business for commercial, operational and on-field success, says an official statement.

"The team is incredibly excited about the addition of Ravi. His reputation and knowledge in this industry will be very valuable, and his commercial experience is unparalleled in this market," said Emerging Media's chairman Manoj Badale.

Krishnan will continue to be the proprietor of Abler Advisory Private Ltd, an investment advisory firm focused principally on private equity in real estate. Prior to Abler, Krishnan spent over 11 years at IMG South Asia based in India.
