Promax/BDA appoints Lee Hunt as interim managing director

MUMBAI: Promax/BDA, the global, non-profit association dedicated to advancing the role and effectiveness of promotion, marketing and broadcast design professionals in the electronic media, has appointed long-time Promax/BDA member and current vice chair Lee Hunt to the post of interim managing director of Promax/BDA and AEIM (Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers).

Hunt assumes all administrative duties and oversight of both organizations heading into this year's MI6 video game marketers conference, tentatively slated for May in San Francisco, and the 52nd annual Promax/BDA North American Conference, being held 12 -14 June in New York City. Hunt's appointment coincides with the leave of Promax/BDA president/CEO Jim Chabin, states an official release.

In announcing Hunt's interim management position, Promax/BDA chairman and ABC Entertainment's executive vice president, marketing Michael Benson said, "Change is a fairly standard occurrence in every major association's evolution."

Hunt has launched, branded and designed more than 100 television networks during the ten years he headed U.S. creative services group Lee Hunt Associates. Selling his company to digital solutions provider Razorfish in the '90s, Hunt then led the company's media and entertainment practice before once again striking out on his own.

Working with media and entertainment companies on brand strategy, break architecture and promo training, Hunt has also created Break|Throughs, a quarterly DVD containing examples of groundbreaking new ideas from more than 100 networks and detailed analysis of promotion strategies from the fall season and the November, February and May sweeps.
