Reliance Retail launches first books and music specialty store in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Reliance Retail (RRL) has announced the launch of a new specialty store - ‘Reliance TimeOut’ at Bangalore’s Cunningham road.

Reliance TimeOut stocks books, music, stationary, toys and gifts. The store is spread over 21,000 square feet and is stocked with over 56,000 products.

This is the 8th Reliance format store after the Fresh, Mart, Digital, Trendz, Footprint, Wellness and Jewels formats that RRL has launched.

Commenting on the launch of TimeOut, RRL president and chief executive – lifestyle Bijou Kurien said, “In today’s world, with all our pressures, stress and workload at office, home and school, we need a place where we can unwind and relax, where we can browse, buy a book, sample some music, choose a gift, buy a toy or some exclusive stationary for ourselves. At Reliance TimeOut, we offer a comprehensive range of products inn these categories along with a fascinating customer experience in a warm and lively ambience."

TimeOut claims over 30,000 titles in books sourced from national and international publishers. Besides fiction, the range includes self-help, professional development, non-fiction, academic, professional, vernacular books in six languages, popular genres and children’s books. The store has a kids’ wall where kids can cuddle up with a book.

In music and movies, TimeOut has over 12,000 titles from music companies around the globe. The store has imported sampling domes to provide hygienic sampling of music. A Karaoke studio permits clients to sing songs and record them with a professional quality of sound.

The stationary section has over 7,000 products, the toy section over 3,000 products and the gifts section over 4,000 products.

To make the store a hangout for youngsters, an in-store café has been provided. A search engine enables a quick search of titles. RRL currently operates 418 stores in 17 cities with a 1.5 million square feet area.
