NDTV Media to manage Nick ad sales

MUMBAI: Viacom has appointed NDTV Media as its exclusive sales partner for Nick in India, the kids' channel from MTV Networks stable.

This is the second such deal that NDTV Media has struck following an agreement with MSN India last year.

Under the agreement, NDTV Media will be responsible for selling the airtime on Nick, sponsorships, spots, promotions and tie-ups.

Financial details of the deal was not made available.

MTV Networks India MD and MTV Networks Asia executive vice president Amit Jain in a statement said, "NDTV Media’s innovative approach, coupled with its strength in concept selling, makes it the perfect choice to optimally leverage Nick’s steady climb in the kids television category."


Jain further added, "The appointment of NDTV Media Ltd completes the circle of key business initiatives outlined for Nick for this year and comes at the right time."

According to him, with a 150 per cent increase in Nick’s ratings over the last three months, distribution across 25 million households in South Asia, relevant programming that saw Nick launch 11 new shows this year and finally a team that is enviable, Nick is sure to continue on its steady growth path to be towards the top–end of the deck by year end.

NDTV Media LTD CEO Raj Nayak said, "We see great opportunity to marry Nick's unique characters and programming to brands in both kids as well as non-kids categories."
