NEW DELHI: The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) unveiled on Saturday its new corporate identity in blue and red colours, a new symbol and a new signature tune.

“Starting today, we will have the opportunity to get closer to our new identity, to reflect on the philosophy behind it, and to celebrate the spirit of teamwork that lies at the heart of it,” ADAG chairman Anil Ambani told his 35,000 colleagues while launching the new look.

He added: "Our new corporate identity reflects our belief and commitment, to shape a better future, create a higher quality of life, and give wings to a million dreams and aspirations.”

The new corporate identity in blue and red, launched within a year of the group’s birth, convey “values of integrity, confidence, optimism, energy and passion,” Ambani said, adding the new symbol, Reliance Apex, is an embodiment of “hope, optimism and success.”

The Reliance typeface, according to Ambani, was a unique combination of upper and lower case characters, representing the group’s “essential openness and accessibility.”

He added, “Our multi dimensional look conveys our deepest appreciation for the rich diversity of human life and aspirations – the unifying basis for our varied business interests.”

Pointing out that the change was not just about physical environment or technology, Ambani said, “This change goes deep within – it is a change in attitude, in mindset, in belief, in dreams, hopes and expectations.”

The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group is a leading private sector business house of India with a market capitalisation of $ 22 billion. Its net assets are in excess of $ 7 billion and net worth to the tune of $ 6 billion, according to the group’s website.

Across different companies, the group claims to have a customer base of over 50 million, the largest in India, and a shareholder base of over 8 million, which is among the largest in the world.

Through its products and services, the group touches the “life of 1 in 10 Indians every single day.” It has a business presence that extends to over 4,500 towns and 300,000 villages in India, and five continents across the world.

The interests of the group range from communications (Reliance Communications) and financial services (Reliance Capital Ltd), to generation, transmission and distribution of power (Reliance Energy), infrastructure, health (Reliance Health) and entertainment (Reliance Entertainment).

“The success of this process (the change in the corporate identity) requires us to look at ourselves not as individuals, with limited roles and responsibilities, but as members of one team, one family, one collectivity – in one word, to work not as mere employees but as flag bearers and brand ambassadors (of the group),” Ambani said.
