Broadcast Worldwide to set up ad sales office in Dhaka

Broadcast Worldwide is eyeing the Rs 2.5 billion Bangladesh television market.
The company, which runs Bangla language channels Tara News and Tara Muzik is planning
to set up an ad sales office in the Bangladesh capital Dhaka.
"We
have already registered ourself in Dhaka. The permission to open a bank account
in the country has also been obtained. Presently, we are awaiting the government's
permission to remit revenue back to India," states Basu.
Tara Bangla has been strategising its programming keeping
in mind the Bangladesh market. To this direction, the channel has been carrying
out various campaigns to tap the market share there. "Bangla audience in
Bangladesh is double than what West Bengal offers. Hence, Bangladesh is certainly
a lucrative market for us," Basu points out.
The television market in Bangladesh is dominated by pubcaster
BTV. The country's prominent satellite channels include NTV, ITV and ATN Bangla.
