MSN India looks to drive ad revenue with new appointment

MUMBAI: MSN, the online services division of software major Microsoft, has announced the appointment of Jaspreet Bindra as MSN India country manager. Jaspreet, based out of Mumbai, will work closely with Microsoft India chairman Ravi Venkatesan and will report to the MSN director for the Asia Pacific region Alex Stewart.


Bindra said, “MSN is a global market leader and it’s a great time to join the team. This year MSN will launch its innovative new set of internet services, Windows Live, which will offer even more opportunities for advertisers. I’ll be focused on driving consumer use of these services, bringing new advertisers online and exploring business opportunities in the booming mobile market.”

Bindra joins MSN following a long stint with the Tata Group. Jaspreet was a part of the Tata Administrative Services (Tas), and he held senior sales, marketing and general business management positions in the telecom, internet and consumer companies within the group.


Stewart said, “I am pleased to announce Jaspreet’s appointment as the new Country Manager for MSN in India. He has a strong leadership background in commercialising mobile and internet technology for the Indian market, and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to MSN that will help drive our business."


Venkatesan said,“The digital economy is booming in India. The online advertising market grew 63 per cent last year. With the ballooning online and mobile audiences, with 39.5 million internet users in India and 72 million mobile phones, the opportunities for digital marketing are immense.”
