MUMBAI: Indigo Consulting has won a significant account in the rapidly expanding online travel market. Indigo has been selected as the online agency for TransIndus Discovery.

TransIndus Discovery is a subsidiary of TransIndus Ltd, a tour operator in the UK specialising in tours throughout Asia. Indigo will be responsible for creating and managing their web platform.

Indigo Consulting will build a travel e-commerce site for TransIndus Discovery. The site will showcase tour itineraries as well as allow travelers to request tailor-made tours according to their needs. For existing itineraries, travelers will be able to view day-by-day details, select excursion options, select date of departure and can make payments online.

Users can make requests for tailor-made tours and TransIndus travel assistants will respond with quotations which users can view online in their account area, make their selection, and pay for it through the payment gateway, asserts an official release.

TransIndus Ltd's Siddhartha Kongara said, "The Indigo team differentiated itself by demonstrating by far the best understanding of our business – the industry, buyer behaviour and processes. Coupled with their professionalism and obvious technical expertise, this business- oriented approach gives us the confidence that we have found a long-term technology partner to work with on this and our future projects."

Indigo Consulting director Vikas Tandon added, "We value the trust that TransIndus has reposed in our abilities and we look forward to using our experience in the intensely competitive online travel industry to provide a site that benchmarks favorably with global competition. Indigo's role will be to create a complete system for online sale, including user interface design, business logic, system development and payment integration."

Besides TransIndus Discovery, Indigo Consulting manages online marketing services for the Indian Hotels Group, including Taj Hotels, Taj Air and Taj Sats.
