| Prior to joining BBC World, Ghosh worked
for 10 years in international marketing across Asia-Pacific. For five
of these she was at CNN, where she was responsible for providing strategic
direction for all consumer, trade and brand campaigns. She was also
instrumental in launching CNN Financial News Network in Australia.
Ang, on the other hand, has worked with MTV Asia for more than
four years as a marketing communications executive, where her portfolio
spanned sponsorship as well as trade and consumer marketing. She
was involved in the launch of MTV Indonesia in 2002, and in major
events and campaigns including the annual MTV Asia Awards.
The media release adds that Ang will be assisting Ghosh in driving
the marketing strategy forward and focus on activity in East Asia,
excluding Japan.
Both Ghosh and Ang are working closely with the Singapore office
of BBC Worlds global media buying and planning agency, Mediaedge:cia,
on the media placement of both trade and consumer campaigns.
Speaking on the appointments, Kotecha says, "I am delighted
to have both Bipasha and Elaine in our team in Asia at a very exciting
period of growth for the channel. Bipasha has considerable experience
working in the news channel market and has in-depth knowledge of
the region, and Elaine has valuable experience in the broadcast
industry across the region. They will be great assets as we continue
to grow BBC World's operations internationally."
