Hungama TV supports MSSA for school children

MUMBAI: Hungama TV in association with MSSA (Mumbai School Sports Association), the apex body of school sports in Mumbai, has kicked off the second leg of the Hungama TV- MSSA sports tournaments.



In keeping with its core ethos of being a channel ‘Of, By & For Indian kids’, Hungama will support MSSA’s efforts to discover India’ future sporting heroes, in the disciplines of cricket, foot ball and athletics, says a press release.



Hungama TV, vice president -marketing, Rajeev Chakrabarti as quoted says, "MSSA have been in the fore front of providing a platform in sports for young budding kids. And, at Hungama TV we have a core ideology of providing Indian kids a platform to showcase their talent in all activities passionate to them. As such, this is a natural- born and synergistic partnership."

While the 111 Athletic Championship tournaments were held in December 2004 amongst others, January 2005 will see 5000 kids across 350 schools battle it out in the true spirit of sportsmanship in the Finals of Haris Shield, Giles Shield and the football / hockey tournaments that kick off from 5 January, informs the media release.



MSSA organises the historic Lord Harris Shield, the under-17 inter-school cricket tournament, which is India’s longest standing tournament. The media release informs that it also organizes the Giles Shield, the symbol of cricketing supremacy amongst Mumbai schools, in the under-14 age group.
