MTV, Citibank launch co-branded debit card

MUMBAI: MTV has launched, in association with Citibank, a CO-branded debit card.
 
 
With the launch of the MTV Citibank Debit Card, MTV Networks India managing director Alex Kuruvilla welcomed the extension, said,"The MTV experience is so much more than just TV. We're everywhere young people are today - clothing and accessories, mobile phones, the coolest hangouts... and even in your wallet. The new MTV Citibank cards not only give you more value for your moolah but also membership to the MTV Citibank Club."

According to an official release, this debit card will be made available to the entire base of customers across Citibank branches, Suvidha and Woman’s Banking.

Besides the MTV Citibank Club offers, an exciting rewards programme that has been worked out on the product offering to ensure that ‘customers save while they spend’.
 
 

On using the MTV Citibank Debit card at the MTV Style Hubs and MTV Citibank Club outlets, customers will earn four reward points for every Rs 100 spent and will earn two reward points for every RS 100 spent at all other outlets.

The MTV Citibank Club is the first and only programme offering both credit and debit cards and designed exclusively to address the lifestyle needs of the youth and the young at heart.

All MTV Citibank debit and credit card holders automatically become members of the MTV Citibank Club and can avail of a variety of benefits on products and services at hip and happening establishments across the country.

 
 

These include free entry and discounts at some of the country’s most popular nightclubs, pubs and restaurants; discounts at popular bookstores; on purchase of mobile phones and mobile phone accessories; popular apparel stores; gyms and health clubs and lots more.

Citigroup India country business manager and global consumer group Sarvesh Sarup said, "The MTV Citibank partnership has resulted in the most preferred card amongst the youth and the young at heart through ongoing and relevant innovation. The launch of the MTV Citibank Debit Card enables the young and young at heart customers to get a rewarding experience while they shop directly from their account. "

Targeting the youth segment, MTV and Citibank had launched the CO-branded credit card in 2001. With the launch of debit card marks the extension of the symbiotic relationship between the two companies; music channel and a financial service.
