With the first regional round at Hyderabad, the championship will take the pulsating fervor of speed across six cities before its grand finale in December 2004.

Announcing the launch of the championship, JK Industries vice chairman and managing director Raghupati Singhania said, "With our dream to take motor sports to every corner of the country, JK Tyre introduced karting in India and built an enviable infrastructure to support and promote this sport. After seven years of arduous efforts, investments close to 40 crores, and the phenomenal response received by the championship, we are delighted that our dream to take this sport to every Indian's heart has been realized. This year's championship is yet another step to identify those young speed kids, and provide them with a platform to realize their dreams of making it big in the world of motor sports."

JK Tyre motorsports head Sanjay Sharma has been quoted in the release as saying, "Each year we endeavored to use technological advancements and innovations to take motorsports to a new high. Recently history was created with the JK Tyre Asia zone national kart open coming to India for the first time and that has brought its share of pioneering feats to India. Also, for the first time Formula 100 Rotax karts were introduced in the country. These karts are aerodynamic, state of the art machines, which can accomplish speeds of a 160 kmph. Today, 90 per cent of the participants in the national racing championship are people who have honed their racing skills through the JK Tyre national karting championship."

General Motors national marketing manager Jhonny Oommen said, "Last year we joined hands with JK Tyre in promoting Go-karting in India. This year we once again renew our allegiance with Go-karting. The appeal of Opel Corsa Sail and its association with Motor-sports is only natural - where outperforming the competition is the rule of the game."
