O&M rides on Hutch's success at the Effies

MUMBAI: It was a night of triumph for Ogilvy & Mather yet again. The invincible agency won the Grand Effie award at the Effies 2004 that were organised by the Bombay Ad Club. The Effies honours the most effective advertising.

An upbeat Bombay Ad Club president MG Parameswaran said that they were planning at least 25 more events in the next six months. The Club, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary, was in expansion mode was looking to get 5000 members by 2005. Also on Parameswaran's agenda was to move to bigger premises and make it a hub of advertising.

On the other hand, Ad Club vice president and chairperson of the Effie Committee Kalpana Rao started by saying that this year the Club had got a record number of 79 entries, which was the highest since the awards began in 2001. The panel of judges comprised some eminent names from the advertising and television industry like BV Pradeep, Ravi Deshpande, Bhaskar Das, Lynn D'Souza, Josie Paul, Kiran Khalap, Pranesh Mishra, Madhukar Kamat and Sunil Lulla.
