Franchise India 2004 Awards announced

MUMBAI: Integrated franchise solution company Franchise India Holdings Limited (FIHL) has announced the Franchise India 2004 Awards in New Delhi today. Apollo Health and Lifestyle has bagged the Franchisor of the year award, while the Franchisee of the year is Devyani International.



During the function, the US-based licensee company Interasia and Associates, which has a joint venture with FIHL in India, was launched. Interasia's three global licensed products - Pepsi lifestyle products, UCLA (the University of California Los Angeles) and Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club - were also showcased.

Franchise India Holdings Limited president Gaurav Marya has been quoted in an official release as saying, "The Franchise Awards 2004 is franchising's most valuable awards show and recognizes excellence in performance in franchising. These awards give an ideal platform to companies to further establish the brand as one of the leading and benchmarking the organizations against the best in India."



The two-day seminar and exhibition held in Delhi, which was attended by top corporates in India, has addressed core issues concerning franchising and enlighten the investors and professionals about various aspects of franchising, licensing and business development.

The Entrepreneur of the year award has gone to Nikhil Chaturvedi of Provogue, while the Hall of Fame award was bagged by Chairman & Managing Director of Archies Ltd Anil Mulchandani.



This apart, The following awards were given to: Medicine Shoppee (Master Franchisee of the Year), Savera Hotels (Debutant franchisor), Madura Garments (Licensor of the Year), Chairman & Managing Director of PVR Cinemas Ajay Bijli (Business Leadership Award), vice president of LG Care Amitabh Chaudhury and Jaideep Banerjee of Plug-in Sales (Franchise Manager of the Year).

The panel of judges for the Franchise Awards 2004 includes the renowned names from the franchise world like Brian Duckett, Honorary Chairman, Franchise Awards '04 consultative committee, who is the Managing Director of Horwath Franchising, U.K. and a member of Horwath Franchise Services Group in association with Eversheds, which is the world's largest network of franchise consultants, accountants and lawyers, Gaurav Marya, Co-Chairman of Franchise Awards'04 consultative committee, chairman of Foreman & Co., New Zealand John B. Foreman and Managing Director of Quantum Plus Tradelinks Pvt. Ltd., India Tony White, informs an official release.

Interasia & Associates India, a group company of Franchise India Holdings (FIHL), has entered the Indian market with three global licensed products like Pepsi lifestyle products, UCLA (the University of California Los Angeles) and Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. Current licensed products from Pepsi include apparel, back-to-school products, collectibles, sporting goods, fashion accessories, casual bags and backpacks. In China, Interasia's licensee for Pepsi has set up 600 points of sale as well as 70 image shops, adds the release.
