To add to the hype associated with the festival, Idea is offering
their subscribers the IFFI schedules on their fingertips. Subscribers
can dial 4040 to keep themselves tuned in as Goa takes center stage
with a line up of exciting activities like beach screenings, pyrotechnics,
vintage car rallies, street plays, musical concerts and magic shows.
Subscribers can also participate in a quiz contest specially designed
for IFFI and win a trip to Goa.
To host the festival, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been
signed between Directorate of Film Festivals (Ministry of Information
and Broadcasting, Government of India) and the Government of Goa.
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is a prestigious,
annual event hosted by the Government of India to showcase the best
of Indian cinema and selections from international cinema.
The Goa Medical College at Campal will be the administrative headquarters
of IFFI. The Charles Correa-designed Kala Academy will be the venue
for the opening and closing ceremonies and regular screenings. The
Dinanath Mangeshkar auditorium in this complex, on the other hand,
is slated to host both the opening and closing ceremonies of IFFI
2004.
