MUMBAI: Martin Bashir’s sensational documentary Living with Michael Jackson was Britain’s biggest television export last year, according to figures released today.

The documentary delat with the superstar’s eccentric life was shown in more than 120 countries.

A quarter of TV export earnings came from children's programmes, their merchandise and video/DVD rights. Revenue from British shows rose by 22% to $921 million in 2003, according to the British Television Distributors' Association. The best-selling new programmes in 2003 were documentaries.
