Hutch-NDTV alliance keeps hutch subscribers in the poll loop

MUMBAI: On your mark, get set , go. With almost all technology players using the poll time to its optimum translating into increased amount of services by service providers across the board, Hutch, a cellular service provider and NDTV, production house turned channel will provide the latest General Elections 2004 news, results & analysis to Hutch and Orange users, on their mobile phones, as a part of their long term content alliance. The joint announcement was made by Hutch Vice President Corporate Marketing Harit Nagpal and NDTV Director KVL Narayan Rao.



Hutch and Orange users can choose to SMS 'ELECT' to 123 to receive the latest election updates by SMS or dial 123 and say 'ELECT' to hear the election news and special analyses by NDTV anchors. Hutch GPRS users can also view video clips of NDTV election news programmes, analysis and soundbytes of key leaders exclusively on the HutchWorld GPRS service.

Nagpal says, "Hutch has always provided content that is relevant and of interest to its users. Elections news is eagerly followed by a large number of our users, and so we have partnered with NDTV to provide them the latest election updates, conveniently, through their mobile phones."

So with the print media already in alliances with news channels for exit polls, cellular service providers are following suit also cashing in to ensure the customer truly feels like a king.
