Spice Telecom ropes in Javagal Srinath for crick updates

MUMBAI: While the action began today in Karachi between the India and Pakistan cricket teams, back home Spice Telecom has tied up with former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath to spice up the India-Pakistan cricket series. Srinath will provide special updates to Spice's subscribers on their mobiles.

From 13 March to 17 April, Spice subscribers will be able to listen to Srinath's expert views during the course of all the matches in the series. Srinath, who knows the team and the conditions in Pakistan well, will also analyse strengths, weaknesses and strategies employed by the players.

By dialing 555, Spice users get to hear Srinath's views on the cricketing action from Pakistan in both Kannada and English in the bowling legend's own voice.

Speaking on the occasion, Spice Telecom Karnataka Circle managing director Sean Dexter said, "The upcoming Indo-Pak series is a much awaited event and we have ensured that cricket loving Spice subscribers will not miss the important parts of the matches. Srinath is one of the best thinkers of the game and his expert views will be a big value addition to our customers."

Javagal Srinath said, "The Indo Pak series has been in the news for a long time and I'm very excited about the series. Regular updates on the matches ensure that every Spice subscriber is clued in on all the latest action from Pakistan. I'm extremely happy to be a part of this service."

Added Dexter, "Spice Telecom is continuously trying to provide its customers with services that will keep them abreast of the latest in terms of innovation, technology and value added services."

Subscribers can avail of this service from 13 March to 17 April at six rupees per minute. Spice subscribers can also hear the latest scores and team compositions. A contest has also been weaved around the series to which Srinath will be the judge and will give away the prizes to the winner at the end of the series.

This is not the first time that Spice has been associated with cricket in a unique way. During the World Cup last year it had launched the Cricket Alert package which was a big hit with customers. Spice has also tied up with the Karnataka State Cricket Association for "Future Strokes," the cricket academy to nurture cricketing talent across Karnataka.
