| "Television promotion has come of age,"
said Promax&BDA CEO Jim Chabin. "For the past three days,
promotion, marketing and design delegates absorbed valuable information
on how to advance their skills and be even bigger contributors to
their companies. The people who stayed at home missed a lot of insights
and compelling presentations. The industry really stepped up and supported
this year's event."
Chabin noted that New York is also a convenient location for the
international sector of the membership. International attendance
was also up, as more than 500 promotion executives from variety
of foreign countries came to the conference to learn new branding
and promotional techniques.
This year's highlights were many as an elite group of speakers
addressed the entertainment promotion community. This included ABC
News' Barbara Walters and NBC's Brian Williams as well as FOX' David
Hill, Oxygen's Geraldine Laybourne, and Tim Sanders of Yahoo.
The sponsors for this year's Promax&BDA conference included:
Nickelodeon, MTV Networks, Stephen Arnold Music, Gallo Winery, Hallmark
Channel, The Hollywood Reporter, Adweek, NBC, Warner Bros. Television,
Warner Bros. International TV, Paramount Domestic Television, PMcD
Design, Quantel, Rainbow Media, Sole Water, Spark Factory, Fox,
and Belief, among others. This year's exhibitor's included Non-Stop
Music, Rainbow Media, Music Box, Westar Music and Xogo.
