Commenting
on the launch, Godfrey Phillips general manager (cigars) Arun Joshi
said, "The Anniversario edition commemorates 40 years of existence
of the Don Diego and pays a tribute to the heritage and tradition
of the Brand."
The company's passion for delivering a product to suit every consumer
segment of the country, coupled with the romanticism around the
product, drew the company towards introducing cigars for the first
time in the country, informed an official release.
Godfrey Phillips has an exclusive arrangement since 2001 with Altadis,
whereby Godfrey Phillips imports and markets Altadis cigars in India.
The company intends to develop and grow the cigar market in India,
with support from Altadis on marketing strategies.
