MUMBAI: BBC Broadcast, the creative agency from the fold of BBC, will present a panel session on the principles of good storytelling and how the promo-makers, designers and advertisers interpret great stories today. The agency has been nominated for 47 awards at the annual conference taking place 23 June to 25 June at the New York Hilton & Towers in New York City.

PROMAX&BDA, the global non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing the role and effectiveness of promotion, marketing and broadcast designing professionals in the electronic media, conducts annual conferences across the world to felicitate better communication in the field of marketing and broadcasting and acknowledge professional talents in the fields.

Titled There's a Story Here Somewhere! BBC Broadcast's panel will take a look at how to engage audiences creatively by telling a great story. The presentation will cover storytelling principles, its innovative applications, the fundamental points of writing a good story and the significance of the story's structure when making promo spots.

BBC Broadcast business director global Nigel Cole and senior account director Jill Lindeman will lead the session.

"In today's high-tech and high-choice world it's more than just creative is king. To truly capture the audience, whether it be on television or a mobile phone, the strength of the story is critical. Throughout history, the great storytellers have enticed their audiences by using creative ways to tell their stories using popular, contemporary mediums. We must also find ingenious ways of telling our stories but in a 30 second spot," said Lindeman.

At this year's PROMAX&BDA conference, BBC Broadcast is nominated for 45 PROMAX World Gold Awards, one BDA World Gold Award, and also for the prestigious Rocket Award, that takes the tally to 47. The winners will be announced on 24 June.
