Available in the denominations of Rs 100, RS 250, RS 500 and RS
1000, World Phone Premium cards will enable users to place international
calls to more then 200 countries, including the US, the UK, France,
Australia, Canada, Singapore and Germany, with tariffs starting
from RS 1.60 per minute onwards
According to World Phone Internet Services pvt ltd chairman Aditya
Ahluwalia, "World Phone's philosophy is that technology should
enrich people's lives by making it simpler. Our endeavour is to
enable our customers to connect to their business associates and
loved ones across the world by providing superior quality voice
calls at extremely affordable rates."
World Phone Premium cards are expected to set the branded VoIP
(voice over Internet Protocol) calling cards market in India on
fire, as the rates offered to the customers are the lowest in the
country. Also, unlike other players in the market, WPISPL cards
will be available to people in smaller cities like Jalandhar, Chandigarh,
Ludhiana, Shimla, Barriely, Moga, Bhopal, Nagpur, Baroda, Pune,
Surat and Hyderabad.
WPISPL has launched World Phone Premium calling cards in technological
tie-up with US based Go2Call, a leading provider of international
VoIP calling service to businesses and customers in over 200 countries
around the world. As per the agreement between World Phone and Go2Call,
all marketing, sales, distribution of the cards in India will be
taken care of by World Phone and Go2Call will utilize its expertise
to maintain backend operations to support the voice traffic over
it's networks.
Said Go2Call, USA director of sales and business development (Asia
Pacific) David Kleiman, "Go2Call and World Phone have studied
the Indian market, which has caught the world's attention because
of its rapid growth. We are extremely pleased to be a part of the
phenomenon and are confident that Indian people will find our services
of the highest quality and value."
World Phone intends to make its calling cards available across
the country primarily through the retailers currently engaged in
selling prepaid cards for cellular services providers. The company
is also in talks with resellers and distributors in various cities
spread across the different zones of the country to market these
cards.
"We plan to introduce our cards nationally and will do so
in phases over the next couple of months. Our USP is not only our
competitive pricing but also the availability of the cards. We do
not intend to restrict our services to major metros but reach out
to far flung areas in the country and make the benefits of our World
Phone Premium cards available to the people there," added Ahluwalia.
How does a World Phone Premium (WPP) card works? It allows users
to place an international call, from anywhere in India, from his
personal computer (PC) by downloading the dialer from World Phone's
website, www.worldphone.co.in
The user can connect to any phone in the countries World Phone
provides access to using this dialer. Alternatively, WPP customers
can install a branded Internet Protocol (IP) phone and place an
international call using his account ID number. This doesn't require
the customer to use his PC as the IP phone has an in-built modem
to directly connect to the internet to place the call.
World Phone Internet Services Private Limited is category "A"
Internet Service Provider (ISP), which gives a clear communication
edge in Internet access and associated services. The company provides
VoIP based International Calling Cards (PC to Phone and Phone to
Phone).
The company's key clients include HCL, NIIT, Rediff.com, Jet Airways,
ICICI Bank, Ebix Software and Solutions Inc.
