Ramchandani
will be reporting directly to the channel's business head Yogesh Radhakrishnan
and will be overseeing marketing operations. He put in his papers
at MAX in the first week of December 2003.
Says Radhakrishnan, "Prakash will be heading the brand and
taking it forward in consolidating the channel as the number one
Hindi movie channel and taking it to greater heights."
Talking about his move from MAX to Zee Cinema, Ramchandani said,
"After being exposed to a lot of areas in marketing at MAX,
I felt that it was time to move on and put that experience to use
somewhere else. So when the opportunity came up with Zee Cinema,
I took it up."
Just recently, Ramchandani was awarded the best TV marketing executive
of the Year at the Indian Telly Awards 2003. Out of the five years
that Ramchandani has spent in consumer and trade marketing, alliances
and events, three were spent at MAX.
Ramchandani; a management graduate from the Douglas Mawson Institute,
Adelaide, Australia; was in advertising for two years with Ambience
D'Arcy in client servicing prior to his stint with MAX. At Ambience
he handled accounts like Proctor & Gamble (Vicks), Philips (domestic
appliances and personal care) and Marico (Sil). He also had a short
stint with Vyas Giannetti Creative in client servicing where their
key clients were Sony Entertainment Television and AXN.
As the manager - marketing at MAX, Ramchandani was involved in
key projects like the promotion of the ICC Cricket World Cup and
Gully Cricket with Kapil Dev. He was also instrumental in conceptualising
and executing an idea for a movie time band - Mera Movie.
