MUMBAI: Shaw Wallace will partner with the Confederation of Indian Industry’s initiative in promotion of sports, by presenting the first edition of the CII's National Golf on 29 February at Jaypee Greens at Greater Noida. 36 leading Indian industrialists are expected to take part, vying for the CII Trophy and LG Plasma television set.

CII National Golf Tournament is scheduled to be an annual event. Among the CII's initiatives to promote the involvement of top corporates with sports earlier was “Shikhar – the quest for Olympic Gold”. Jaypee Greens, the venue of CII National Golf 2004 is a well-acclaimed golf course and has been designed by legendary Australian golfer and former world number one, Greg Norman.

“The decision maker in the corporate world is getting younger. Golf, too, is getting younger by the day. And so is the brand Royal Challenge. For years, Royal Challenge has been a favourite brand for those who have already arrived in life. But now, young and ambitious corporate executives, business people and young professionals are increasingly becoming consumers of this brand.”, says Shaw Wallace president A K M A Shamsuddin.

Among those who will be seen as teeing off at the tournament are Shell chairman Vikram Mehta, Pepsi CEO Rajeev Bakshi, Coca Cola finance director Sanjeev Kumar, Jindal Stell CEO Rattan Jindal, and Adidas India MD Tarun Kunzru.
