MUMBAI: The Singapore Tourism Board today
organised a sneak preview of the latest designs & themes to be
showcased at the forthcoming Singapore Fashion Festival
(SFF) to be held in Singapore between March 25-April 2, 2005. The
preview was organised as part of the international marketing communications
programme by AFI-Pico Events, the agency in charge of marketing and
promotion of SFF in India.
The Singapore Fashion Festival will feature a schedule
of events that aims to appeal to a broad cross section of fashion-conscious
individuals from Singapore as well as overseas. The objective of the
Festival is to continue to attract international tourists to Singapore
to experience the fashion shopping experience that the island state
is renowned for.
India has been identified as one of the
priority markets that will help promote travel to Singapore during
the Festival. Says Rena Tan Li Ling, manager, Tourism Shopping Division,
We are extremely excited and positive about the showcasing of
SFF garments in India as it is supported by the conviction that India
is the most significant market for the festival.
SFF hopes to build on its reputation
and attract considerable new tourist receipts to the country as well
as give a boost to local retailers in Singapore. SFF 05 will
consist of public and invitation-only events from leading designers
and retailers. The event is set to showcase the latest Spring Summer
collections that have just arrived in-store in Singapore. The official
schedule will include fashion shows, exhibitions, in-store promotions
as well as appearances by a number of special guests. The SFF will
be promoted to major markets around Asia including China, India, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Japan and Australia.
