O&M declared 1st runner up for 'Office of the Year' award

MUMBAI: Ogilvy & Mather India was crowned the first runner up for the Office of the Year Award, at Media magazine's 2004 Agency of the Year Awards in Hong Kong last night. This award is the most highly contested industry award in Asia.

No other Indian agency came close to being short listed despite hundreds of entries from India and the rest of Asia. O&M India was the only Indian agency among the winners.

Commenting on the win, O&M's chairman and national creative director Piyush Pandey said, "The fact that we have been declared 1st Runner Up in a highly contested competition in Asia, serves to underpin our leadership position in India and now, Asia. This award is particularly significant as the qualifying parameters span across 360 communication, therefore making this an incredible 360 win for the agency. The parameters were New Business Wins, Network’s contribution to Industry’s advancement, Industry Recognition and Staff Training Initiatives."

Present at the Media magazine awards ceremony in Hong Kong last night was John Goodman, who said, "It’s been a very good year."

The Media Awards are prestigious and well recognised by the advertising industry across Asia. The three most contested awards are Agency Network of the Year, Media Agency of the Year and Agency Office of the Year. O&M Asia/Pacific won the Network award in 2003. The results are tabulated and verified by leading accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, which does the same for the Oscars.
