Sterling buys Tata’s stake in Barista Coffee Company

BANGALORE: The Sterling Infotech Group has acquired the remaining 35 per cent stake in Barista Coffee Company Limited, from Tata

 

 

A company release says, Coffee Limited, making it a wholly owned entity of the group, in a deal concluded in Chennai on 6 December.



Sterling Infotech Group has been in the coffee business for the last six years through its well-known brand Fresh and Honest.

 

 

Sterling Infotech Group, chairman C. Sivasankaran said, that has 100 per cent stake in all his ventures and believes that this is a matter of faith for the success of any business. It may be noted that all flagship companies owned by Sterling Group in Telecom and Food business are 100 per cent entities of the Group.

 

It may be recalled that Tata Coffee Limited had acquired 35 per cent of shareholding in Barista from Turner Morrison in 2001. In April 2004, Sterling Infotech Group had acquired close to about 65 per cent of shares in Barista from Turner Morrison.
