Adidas to be official
kit supplier of Chennai Open 2005

MUMBAI: Sports goods manufacturer Adidas will be the
official kit supplier of Chennai Open, South Asia's only ATP Tennis
Tournament. With this association adidas will provide branded merchandise
such as shoes, t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts and track pants to all
tournament officials during the Chennai Open.
"Adidas has always brought passion to sport,
wherever and whenever it is played", says Adidas India MD Andreas
Gellner, in an official release. "We have already initiated grass
root activity in tennis in the country through our participation in
important tennis tournaments. Chennai Open is an important tennis
event in India that both players and fans look forward to and we will
support this year's tournament by providing the best products to the
officials."
Adidas will also be running an in-store promotion
in Chennai during the course of the tournament where tennis fans can
buy merchandise worth Rs. 2500 and win VIP tickets for the Chennai
Open Tennis championships. The tournament will be played at the Sports
Development Authority of Tamil Nadu Tennis Stadium at Nungambakam,
Chennai from January 3-9, 2005 and will feature an impressive roster
of International stars including World No. 5 - Carlos Moya of Spain
and, Paradorn Srichaphan of Thailand, amongst others.
Adidas has been closely involved with the sport of
tennis globally. In India, the company supports major tennis tournaments
in India such as the adidas-MCC National Junior Hard Court Tennis
Championship in Chennai and the ITF International Junior Tournament
in Gurgaon, adds the release.
