BSNL launches post paid
plan for Karnataka & Kerala

BANGALORE: In a bid to garner more low spending subscribers,
BSNL has launched the Rs.140 per month post paid plan for it's CellOne
in Karnataka and Kerala. The offer will be valid till February 2005.
This plan was earlier available only in Tamil Nadu,
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab circles. So far the
minimum plan charges offered by BSNL here was CellOne Post paid plan
of Rs. 225, where the basic charges were a minimum of Rs. 225/- per
month. Subscribers who have more of incoming calls than outgoing are
being targeted by BSNL for this scheme.
The charges within a licensed service area will be
Rs.1.20 per 60 second pulse, while STD calls for distances below 200
kms will be Rs.2.40 per minute within the licensed service area.
Registration fees of Rs.500 and activation fees of
Rs.200 will be levied on new subscribers, as well as security deposit
of Rs.1,000 for local calls will be collected, while those opting
for local with STD calls will have to deposit a security amount of
Rs.2,000. ISD, STD and local call facilities will call for a security
deposit of Rs.3,000. The security deposits will be interest free and
are refundable.
