BANGALORE: The Chennai headquartered consumer durables,
electronics, electronic appliances and computer chain store Viveks
Ltd. has added its fiftieth retail outlet in the country and the ninth
in Bangalore at 100 feet road, Indiranagar in Bangalore.
On the anvil are plans to add another six over the
next year at Bangalore and six to eight outlets in Hyderabad-Secunderabad
over the next two years, as well as plans to provide touch-screen
facilities for customers.
"We have a presence in Tamil Nadu and in Karnataka.
With the plans for outlets in Hyderabad-Secunderabad, we will have
a presence in Andhra Pradesh as well," says Viveks associate
VP Bangalore B K Shankar. "We are at present the largest consumer
durable retail outlet in India - in terms of number of outlets and
turnover as well," he claims.
"Our turnover last year was around Rs. 2 billion,
we expect to gross Rs.2.75 billion this year, and in terms of number
of outlets, well, we have just launched our fiftieth outlet,"
Shankad adds.
