The much acclaimed Gerson D'Cunha was the official VJ of the event,
and kick-started the event by an interesting video clip, taking
the audience through five decades of advertising nostalgia. True
to his style, he ended with a punch saying, "I look forward
to our next celebration. 75 years can be fun."
Followed by an outstanding performance by international maestro
Trilok Gurthu, the jazz percussionist; the audience sampled divine
symphony. Gurthu also managed to engage the listeners in heavy interactive
beats ensuring a smile on everybody's face.
President of the Advertising Club, Bombay M G Parameswaran then
took over highlighting the achievements as well as the road to be
taken in the coming years. A solemn pledge was made to set up a
cause committee to take on social issues. Another issue that came
up was the relocation of the Ad Club to a larger premises for the
purpose of ensuring that the Club became the adverting hub of the
city.
The Advertising Club initiatives, '50 careers in Advertising' written
by Anita Sharan as well as the special issue of Solus by
Bhaskar Das were unveiled at the event.
The 'Advertising for Advertising' contest applauded the FCB Ulka
team as numero uno and O&M as runner up.
