Star World comedy nights now gets real

MUMBAI: It doesn't get more real than this, now does it. Star World is getting its core property 'Absolute Comedy' near home to Provogue Lounge as 'Absolutely Comedy Nights'.

The English entertainment channel's killer comedy line up comprising Everybody Loves Raymond, The Simpsons, Friends, That 70's Show and Just Shoot Me will now go just beyong TV screens.



The channel has joined hand with lounge bar Provogue Lounge for a a night of absolute laughter, fun and comedy, with stand-up comedian Vir Das.

According to a company release, Das will present his act Honey... I have a Headache. An insight into the mind and body of an average male - from his hygiene, his performance, eating / sleeping habits to the eternally asked questions of his wandering eye, his unusual closeness to his mother and his one-track mind, the show sounds a lot of fun.

Launching the Star World 'Absolutely Comedy Nights', Star India pvt ltd senior vice president, content and communication Deepak Segal said, "The Sitcoms on Star World are a huge hit with our audiences. Therefore, it is our endeavour to bring some of the fun and excitement off TV screens and on ground through initiatives like these 'Absolutely Comedy Nights'. We believe that the concept of a stand up comedy act will connect well with the discerning Star World audiences."

The comedy begins at Provogue Lounge, on Thursday, 8 April 2004 from 9:30 pm onwards.
