As part of the tri-nation ODI Series involving India, Australia
and New Zealand, the hosts take on World Champions Australia in
a day-night match here today.
Consumers were required to give a caption to the famous photograph
of Pepsi’s Men in Blue in a huddle in the middle of the cricket
ground, and drop completed entries at drop boxes placed at 15 key
Pepsi outlets across Mumbai. Pepsi had also launched a phone-in
consumer promotion in association with a FM radio channel, the winners
of which also got to meet and greet the two cricket stars.
According to Satendra Agarwal, head of Pepsi’s operations in the
western region, “Pepsi has been a pioneer in bringing fans closer
to celebrities. Pepsi’s ‘Join the Huddle’ contest is yet another
opportunity for fans in Mumbai to meet their favourite cricketers.
This consumer contest received an overwhelming response and added
a lot of fun and excitement to the cricket fever.”
