| MUMBAI: Reliance Infocomm will premiere
its new commercial featuring Virender Sehwag during the cricket World
Cup telecast on DD today when India commences its battle.
A Nimbus statement says that media reports indicating that Reliance
Infocomm has decided to give DD a miss on the World Cup are untrue.
The statement reiterates that Reliance Infocomm has bought a large
volume of airtime and entered into an all match ad deal with Nimbus
starting from the India-Holland match.
Given that Nimbus had introduced Flexi Buy options for the first
time on World Cup telecasts, many advertisers have chosen to pay
the premium and go the pick and choose route. Accordingly, several
major advertisers not seen on the opening match will be unveiled
at varying stages of the 43-day long tournament.
This includes majors such as Nestle, Reckitt Benkeiser, Reliance
Infocom, LML, Hutch/Orange, Nirma and over 2 dozen more.
Nimbus officials also claim that they have completely sold out
every second of time on all the pool matches, over 94 per cent of
the super sixes time and over 91 per cent of semi finals and final
time. Given a reasonable run by the Indian team in the pool matches,
Nimbus expects that the remaining spots for the 2nd and 3rd phases
will sell out soon.
