MUMBAI: Pepsi Foods released a new television commercial 'Lay's Australian' last week, featuring its brand ambassador Saif Ali Khan. A company release said the campaign is a sequel to the Lay's cricket World Cup campaign released earlier this year. The World Cup challenge went 'bet you can't eat jut one'!

JWT's creative director Bhavna Gupta, said "The Lays Australian campaign is a stage two of our Saif and Kaif (Mohammad) cricket initiative." The new commercial depicts a bet between Saif and an opera singer, which results in a dramatic hijack of opera by Bollywood. Since the flavour was Australian, the commercial was shot in Sydney against the backdrop of the opera house and Harbour bridge.

"A true blue soprano was cast for the role along with dancers. It was a big production with choreographers, camera and production crew, costumers and stylists from Sydney. Highlight (Productions) was the producer and the film has been directed by Sunhil Sippy," Gupta was quoted saying.

On Saif fitting as a brand ambassador for Lay's, Gupta said, "He embodies the mischievous, playful nature of Lay's and lends that complete charm. Saif is a very talented actor and we find him great fun to work with. He is a natural and improvises a lot at shoots. He is very involved with the brand and adds a lot of value to the script."

The Saif-Kaif duo have been signed for the entire year. Kaif will be used for all of Lay's cricket communication, Gupta said.
