Air Sahara has topped the participation list consisted of several
entries - 700 brands in 95 different categories. A medianet release
says that some of the others who made it to the top list include
names such as Raymond, Hero Honda and AirTel.
The release says that the selected brands are characterised by
the high quality of their product or service, their distinctive
stand and clarity of personality and values, and consistency of
their brand principle.
The evaluation of the brands was done by the Superbrand Branding
Council. The members of the council includes names such as Frank
Simoes Advertising president Anmol Dar; TV 18 MD and CNBC India
managing editor Raghav Behl; ITC chairman Yogi Deveshwar; Bennett
and Coleman president Pradeep Guha; and Raymond group president
and director Nabankar Gupta amongst others.
Superbrands India chairman Anmol Dar: "This is a tribute to
Air Sahara's effort to develop itself into an airline of repute
in a difficult aviation environment. Air Sahara with its exclusive
services and innovative ideas has made a mark as a brand to be reckoned
with in the aviation industry."
Air Sahara CEO Uttam Kumaar Bose was quoted as saying: "Being
listed by Superbrands is great honour for us." He further added,
"Our endeavour is to make Air Sahara one of the finest airlines
in the country, focussing consistently on customer satisfaction
and innovative schemes."
Originally set up in London a decade ago, Superbrands now has a
presence in 17 countries including the US, Australia, Denmark, France,
Italy, Holland, Spain and Singapore. Internationally, Superbrand
is considered as the Oscar of branding.
