| NEW DELHI: Discovery India's marketing
associate director, Sanjay Raina has left the organisation to join
Hindustan Times (HT) as the general manager-marketing.
To be based at the Delhi head office, Raina would be looking after
brand management function of the Hindustan Times.
He started his career in 1992 with a sales stint at Videocon. In
1994, he moved to Philips (domestic appliances division), handling
sales in Uttar Pradesh and later in Delhi. Subsequently, he was
transferred to product marketing (based at Pune) where he was the
product manager for personal care products. He is also credited
with the launch of Philishave (mens dry shavers), satenille (lady
epilators) and hair care products in India.
In 1998, Raina moved to join Sony Picture Inc. as marketing manager
handling the marketing function for Walt Disney Pictures (Sony has
a distribution tie up with Walty Ddisney in India). In Januray 2001,
he joined Discovery channel as associate director - marketing and
was there till April 2003.
