LONDON: Advertising guru Charles Saatchi has left his mark not
just on the advertising world but also on everyone who loves arts
and culture. A new Saatchi Gallery at London's County Hall financed
was inaugurated on 17 April and will hope to attract millions of
people over the years.
A BBC report states that the gallery highlights work by some of
the most notorious young British contemporary artists and by other
international names. It will include a space that will showcase
new artists, rotating work every five to six weeks. It includes
Damien Hirst's pickled shark in a tank of formaldehyde, and Tracey
Emin's infamous bed.
The 100-plus pieces on display at the gallery is but a fraction
of Saatchi's 2,000-plus collection of contemporary arts works.
